Dec.1, 2011-- Eight-time GMA Dove Award nominee worship leader, singer and songwriter, Matt Maher, was recognized by The Recording Academy® with a GRAMMY Award® nomination, during last night's hour-long special broadcast, "The GRAMMY® Nominations Concert Live!! - Countdown To Music's Biggest Night®," which aired live on CBS from Nokia Theatre at L.A. LIVE.
Maher's nomination was received in the Best Contemporary Christian Music Song category where he was recognized as a songwriter on "I Lift My Hands" recorded and co-written by Chris Tomlin and Louie Giglio.
The 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards® ceremony will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif. on Sunday, February 12, 2012.
Matt's most recent release The Love In Between (Sept. 20, 2011) debuted at No. 7 on the SoundScan Top Contemporary Christian Chart, and graced the Billboard 200 at No. 97. The project was also a notable success at iTunes breaking into the Top 5 on the Christian & Gospel Top Albums Chart.
In addition to promoting The Love In Between, Matt recently wrapped "The Love In Between" tour. The coast-to-coast headlining tour, which visited more than 25 cities through late October, saw attendance in the thousands with sold out shows in multiple cities.
